We usually request you guys complete these reports after we complete depositions under oath with the parties claiming injury. A lot of the time they are claiming ongoing pain complaints or impacts on their daily activities or hobbies years after the accident. 

Some of the social media reports will show them living a lifestyle that contradicts their deposition testimony. For one report it showed the injured party skydiving, roughhousing with family members, bowling, and traveling all over the place during the period they claimed to have been experiencing intense back pain and severe limitations. 

We provide the pictures and videos to the plaintiff’s attorney and it will often adjust their expectations and get us to a place where we can settle the claim for an amount that reflects the actual extent of the injury.

Even with vague information from the adjuster, your team was able to find crucial information for the claim. The opposing attorney was likely going to request policy limits for this claimed injury, and Social Discovery found videos of the claimant dancing in a hospital gown, working, dancing at concerts, etc. This will help minimize the overall payout amount.

This most recent report you provided was for a reported theft claim.


Our insured told us that he did not know the person that took his vehicle very well and that he was only trying to help her in a bad situation. While he was attempting to help her she “stole” his vehicle and crashed it into another vehicle causing damages to that vehicle and injuries to the occupants.


The report you provided showed that our insured and the “reported thief” had much more of a connection than just acquaintances, they are in fact engaged.    Even though our insured was using an assumed name you were able to find both profiles on Facebook along with pictures of our insured and the “reported thief” together.


This allowed our team to conclude that the claim was falsely reported in order to avoid and conceal the liability for the accident. With this report we were also able to provide liability coverage for the other party that was injured from this accident.

Hi Courtney,

One example is on an employment claim where the employee alleged she was disabled and your team was able to find TikTok videos of her dancing. Another example was a social media search where a claimant was alleging she had a chemical burn to her fingernails, upon your search of her Facebook page, you located a public conversation where she discussed the injuries with a friend and the friend indicated she had a similar injury in the past.

I just received some very good news from my client who has been defending a doctor on a claim of medical malpractice by the plaintiff on whom your team conducted the inquiry.

Thanks so much Courtney. Social Discovery reports have led to some GREAT wins for myself in 2024. I had a recent case that was likely headed to being a $100k+ work comp case but due to the social media findings on the report, her own doctor deemed her issues unrelated to her alleged work injury. I think we had 3 open cases for the same claimant and all 3 resolved for $5k total just for it to go away.
